Sharp shinned hawk

A Sharp-shinned hawk watches smaller birds off Clark Street early last week. The Sharp-shinned hawk is a regular visitor to bird feeders, where it eats birds, not seed. It has a long tail that ends with a square tip.

Deer temporarily trapped on Canal



A deer looks back as it is temporarily trapped on the Feeder Canal Saturday, February 16, 2008. After approximately ½ mile, the deer found an area where it could escape into the woods.
